Most people in Germany like to spend a lot of time in their house or apartment, so they like it to be comfortable and attractive, and a pleasant place to be – especially the living room. Most Germans spend a lot of money furnishing their living rooms. There's usually a couch, one or two armchairs and a small table. Nearly everyone also has a television and stereo in their living room, and often there are also bookshelves, a carpet and of course indoor plants.
