The imperative form is created like this:

Suggestions with könnte

Nico says: Du könntest das Essen bei Max und Tarek bestellen.

Suggestions are often formulated with the modal verb können in the subjunctive. The conjugation of können in the subjunctive looks like this:

1st person	ich könnte
2nd person	du könntest
3rd person	er/sie/es könnte
Plural
1st person	wir könnten
2nd person	ihr könntet
3rd person	sie könnten
Formal	Sie könnten

To make a suggestion, you normally need to use the second-person singular or plural or the formal address:

Du könntest das Essen bei Max und Tarek bestellen.
Ihr könntet in ein Restaurant gehen.
Sie könnten einen Kochkurs besuchen.

Du könntest das Essen bei Max und Tarek bestellen. (suggestion)
Du solltest das Essen bei Max und Tarek bestellen. (emphatic recommendation)

Formulating suggestions in the plural

If you want to decide together with someone, you can formulate suggestions in the plural.

Inge could say to Jacques:

Wir könnten in ein Restaurant gehen. (declaration)
Sollen/Wollen wir in ein Restaurant gehen? (question)
