Every year since 2001, "Girls' Day" has taken place in Germany. The event aims to give girls from fifth grade onwards the opportunity to broaden their professional horizons and foster their interest in science-related or technical professions. The girls meet women working in these professions who act as role models. They are also provided with information about the different study programs and apprenticeships that are available. They also get to check out the day-to-day of various professions and get new ideas about careers.
