Name changes after marriage

It used to be common for women to take their husband's name when they got married. This is no longer the case. Today, men can also take the names of their wives, or both can keep their own name. Married couples can also take double names; they keep their own last name and add on that of their partner. But for children, a decision has to be made: even if the couple has different names or double-barreled names, the children are only allowed to have one name.
