Revision: verbs with the dative

Lisa and Nico are talking after the party:

Lisa: Hat dir die Party gefallen?

Nico: Ja! Die Musik war toll, und das Essen hat mir auch geschmeckt.

Most verbs in German take the accusative, but some also take the dative. The dative object often refers to the goal or target or the recipient of an action and so is commonly a person. Note the verbs that take the dative below:
