IN MUNICH / IN THE CAR
NARRATOR:
Harry is in Munich. Together with the journalist, Nick Wessling, he's on his way to the Max Planck Institute, where a time experiment is due to take place this evening. Harry is convinced that if he can prevent this experiment, he will at last be able to get out of his time warp. But first, the two of them have to find the institute and that does not seem to be so easy.
NICK:
Verdammt!
HARRY:
Hey, what's wrong?
NICK:
Ich glaube, wir haben uns verfahren.
HARRY:
Verfahren?
NICK:
Ja, verfahren. Ich weiß nicht, wo wir sind.
HARRY:
Sind wir falsch gefahren?
NARRATOR:
That's typical!
NICK:
Ja!
NARRATOR:
And they say that men have a good sense of direction and can read maps.
HARRY:
Why don't you tell us what to do next - that's what you usually do.
NARRATOR:
Well, you know, normal people would simply ask for directions.
HARRY:

MAN:

NICK:

MAN:

NICK:
… und wie kommen wir zum Institut?
MAN:
Sie fahren die Straße geradeaus, bis zur Tankstelle. An der Tankstelle biegen Sie links ab, dann durch den Tunnel. Danach die zweite rechts, und schon sind Sie da.
NICK:
Ja …
HARRY:
Is my German really that bad? I didn't understand a word of that!
NICK:
Können Sie uns den Weg hier auf dem Stadtplan zeigen?
HARRY:
A street map? First we're in a time warp, now we're in the stone age! Why hasn't this hired car got a GPS?
MAN:
Also, wir sind hier. Diese Straße geradeaus bis zur Tankstelle.
NARRATOR:
Straight along the street, as far as the gas station.
NICK:

NARRATOR:

HARRY:

NARRATOR:

HARRY:

HARRY:

ANNOUNCEMENT:

NARRATOR:

HARRY:

NICK:

HARRY:

NICK:

HARRY:

Meine Damen und Herren, herzlich willkommen im Max-Planck-Institut, ich bin Professor Zweistein. Hier, hinter diesem Sicherheitsglas, werden wir künstlich ein schwarzes Loch erzeugen. Deswegen freut es mich umso mehr, dass Sie alle so zahlreich erschienen sind.
NARRATOR:
Actually it's a good thing that there's this toughened glass.
HARRY:
Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it!
PROFESSOR ZWEISTEIN:
Wir Menschen können mit unseren fünf Sinnen das Experiment gar nicht wahrnehmen. Sie, liebe Zuschauer, werden also überhaupt nichts spüren.
NARRATOR:
