Our time travelers' goal is to bring Anna's murderer to justice. They may also take a cue from Derrick, one of the most popular TV shows in Germany and a top export hit with sales in over 100 nations! Since the beginning of the series in 1974, Chief Inspector Stephan Derrick and his colleague Harry Klein have spent 24 years fighting crime in and around Munich. Both men are formal and always appropriately attired. Audiences in China, Australia, and Europe were enthralled by Derrick's composure and authority as well as his unbelievable success rate – of 281 cases, only two remained unsolved!

The main character was played by actor Horst Tappert (1923-2008). Yet Tappert originally had his sights set on a completely different path in life: in 1945, when World War II had just ended, the businessman applied for a job as an accountant at a theater. He was actually hired – but, to his surprise, as an actor. Further theater engagements followed, as well as appearances in film and TV.

Derrick was dressed in a tailored suit, a beige trench coat, unattractive glasses and bags under his eyes. In short, he lacked all the qualities of a superstar, but he diligently looked into the matter and, against all odds, rose to international fame.
