Nico is learning German: Stress on separable verbs

In his audio course, Nico listens and learns how to stress separable verbs in the infinitive and in a sentence. Listen and repeat.

Script

LISA:
Emma steht um halb sieben auf. Danach putzt sie Zähne. Das ist wichtig, Emma, okay?

EMMA:
Ich putze immer meine Zähne!

LISA:
Immer oder manchmal?

EMMA:
Fast immer.

LISA:
Okay … Zum Frühstück isst Emma normalerweise Müsli mit Milch. Aber manchmal isst sie auch einen Apfel. Und zum Mittagessen gibt es oft Gemüse.

NICO:
Gemüse?

LISA:
Ja, Gemüse ... Tomaten, Salat, Brokkoli.

Careful! In the case of separable verbs, the stress in the infinitive is on the first syllable. In a sentence, however, this does not mean that the separated prefix is also stressed.
