IN THE HOTEL ROOM

NARRATOR:
Harry almost made it. He wanted to go to Munich with Helen the weather forecaster in order to stop the experiment. But the train went without him. Suddenly Helen had disappeared. Harry looked for her everywhere, but he couldn't find her!

NEW WEATHER FORECASTER:
April …

HARRY:
What? What's happened? Where am I?

NEW WEATHER FORECASTER:
… sieben Uhr.

NARRATOR:
The weather forecaster today is a man! Something must really have happened. Ich habe kein gutes Gefühl.

HARRY:
I also don't have a very good feeling about it. Another woman who's suddenly disappeared out of my life.

NARRATOR:
You're right about that.

HARRY:
I must get to Cologne straight away.

IN A STREET IN COLOGNE

HARRY:
Okay, Helen isn't at home, perhaps she's at the television station.

KÖLN TV:
Köln TV Wetterstudio, guten Tag. Was kann ich für Sie tun?

HARRY:

HARRY:
I've already tried her mobile phone. Ich habe sie schon angerufen.

KÖLN TV:
Ach, sie geht nicht ans Telefon

HARRY:
Nein!

KÖLN TV:
Ja dann … versuchen Sie es in ihrem Sportstudio.

HARRY:
Stimmt! Das ist eine gute Idee. Danke!

KÖLN TV:
Bitte sehr, auf Wiederhören.

HARRY:
I know where her gym is. I've been there.

AT THE GYM

HARRY:
Ist Helen Meister da?

RECEPTIONIST:
Nein, Frau Meister ist nicht hier.

NARRATOR:
Would have been too good to be true!

HARRY:
Mist! I prefer to check for myself.

RECEPTIONIST:
Hey, Sie! Sie können da nicht einfach rein.

HARRY:
What?

RECEPTIONIST:
Nur Mitglieder dürfen ins Sportstudio.

NARRATOR:
Only members can come in. You probably have to register.

RECEPTIONIST:
Sie müssen sich anmelden.

NARRATOR:
Siehst du?

HARRY:
If I have to, I suppose I'll register. How was it again? Ich melde mich an?

NARRATOR:
Exactly.

RECEPTIONIST:
Bitte füllen Sie dieses Formular hier aus

HARRY:
'Name' - name: Harry Walkott. 'Alter' - age? For you darling, I think I'll be a sprightly 23. 'Beruf' - profession, oh well, at the moment detective! 'Gewicht'? Weight? Hey, now come on, that's going a bit too far.

RECEPTIONIST:
Gewicht! Wie viel wiegen Sie?

HARRY:
Wie bitte?

NARRATOR:
She wants to know how much you weigh, Harry, and she wants to know it in kilograms, das Kilo for short.

HARRY:
Do I really have to answer every question? Ich wiege 70 Kilo.

RECEPTIONIST:
Wollen Sie abnehmen?

NARRATOR:
Well, Harry, would you like to lose some weight?

HARRY:
Ich bin Detektiv und ich brauche … more fitness, you know … mehr Kondition!

RECEPTIONIST:
Ach ja! Also, ich empfehle Ihnen einen Personal Trainer. Christian, kommst du mal bitte?

CHRISTIAN:
Ja, ja, ich bin gleich da, ich komm sofort!

NARRATOR:
I do believe that blond Adonis who's on his way over to you is going to be your trainer. Not a bad looker, I have to say.

HARRY:
Great!

CHRISTIAN:
Hey, hallo, hallo, ich bin der Christian.

HARRY:
Ich bin Harry.

CHRISTIAN:
Na gut, Harry, das Training geht los. 20 Minuten auf dem Stepper.

NARRATOR:
Christian!

HARRY:
I already hate this gym.

CHRISTIAN:

HARRY:
Me out of practice? I have to find something I can do better. Ich kann besser Fahrrad fahren.

CHRISTIAN:
Gut, dann gehen wir zum Trainingsfahrrad. Du solltest dich einfach mehr bewegen, Harry.

HARRY:
Was?

NARRATOR:
When you are giving advice, you use the form: du solltest or Sie sollten. You should! That's the subjunctive of sollen.

HARRY:
What?

NARRATOR:
I'll explain it to you another time.

HARRY:
You're letting me off a grammar lesson? Are you feeling ill, or something?

CHRISTIAN:
Komm! Ja, gut, Harry, ja, schön in die Pedale treten, Gas geben, ja gut, Harry, schön so.

NARRATOR:
Harry? Harry, you're quite red in the face. Is everything okay?

HARRY:
If I still had the energy, I'd murder Christian now - and, and you too, for that matter.

CHRISTIAN:
Wie fühlst du dich, Harry?

HARRY:
Ich fühle mich sehr gut. Never felt better.

NARRATOR:
Lügner!

HARRY:
And don't you call me a liar again, thank you.

NARRATOR:
Oh nein, Harry, du bist ein echter Held! You are a hero!

CHRISTIAN:
Du solltest mehr Sport treiben, Harry. Unbedingt!

NARRATOR:
The man's right. You really ought to do more sport, Harry.

HARRY:
And you ought to leave me alone.

CHRISTIAN:

NARRATOR:
Oh, yes, yes, Harry will be only too happy to come to the gym twice a week - isn't that right, Harry - zweimal pro Woche!

HARRY:
Never!

NARRATOR:
Why not?

CHRISTIAN:
Übrigens, du solltest in die Sauna gehen.

HARRY:
Where am I supposed to go now?

NARRATOR:
To the sauna. That'll stop you from having muscle pains tomorrow .

CHRISTIAN:
Das hilft gegen den Muskelkater

HARRY:
I didn't know there was a sauna here.
